The MerchantMerchants are the economy specialists of Ragnarok Online. Anyone looking to make a fortune will do well playing a Merchant, squeezing the most out of every zeny. Merchants are also great with items: they can carry much more than other classes thanks to the Enlarge Weight limit and Push Cart(Pushcart) skills.
General class reference guide. ReClassic applies its own rebalance to several skills, so some builds and skills may differ from classic Ragnarok.
Standard Builds
The two classic paths for the Merchant are AGI (flee and attack speed) and DEX/LUK (hit and Mammonite).

DEX/LUK

Becoming a Merchant
Requirements: be a Novice, have learned all 9 Basic Skills, and have spent all your skill points. You also need 1,000 Zeny for the membership fee.
The Merchant Guild is in Alberta (`alberta_in`).
Note: the NPC also offers to change your class on the spot, no test needed. But you lose the Merchant's Glove (STR +5 and +10% EXP up to level 60).
This is the fastest 1st class quest on the server: it's just a delivery.
Step
What to do
1
Talk to Chief Mansur (alberta_in,53,43) and choose Take the test. Guard Kay (alberta_in,28,29) is at the entrance and points you the way.
2
Pay the 1,000 Zeny fee.
3
Deliver the package to Flor, the Kafra Employee in southern Prontera (prontera,248,42). The NPC already opens the route on your navigation map.
4
Go back to Chief Mansur in Alberta and receive the Merchant's License.
The Culverts are the starting point for your first levels. You can still stay here up to job 40, since the EXP improves as you go down the floors. You can start with a dagger as your weapon, for fast attack speed. Balance your stats, since monsters get more flee as you go down the floors. Prioritize buying a high-damage weapon.
Morroc Fields
Easy to Medium
Just like in the Culverts, the technique here is the same, and there's a ton of loot too! This is a universal leveling spot, since Mukas and Hodes die easily and give good EXP. Keep the loot and sell it to other players.
Byalan
Medium to Hard
Want more adventure? Check out Byalan! Lots of rare items to get and lots of people to party up with. Start from the first map and work your way down to the deeper floors. Byalan loot is much sought after! Keep it and look for players buying. AGI characters tend to have the advantage here, thanks to the monsters' slow attack and low hit.
Orcs
Medium to Hard
This is where leveling starts to get serious. Orcs deal high damage but give a lot of EXP. Bring potions. You have two options here: run the field killing orcs, or enter the orc dungeon. Avoid the Orc Lady at low levels. She has fast ASPD and high damage.
Forget the Leaf Cats! If you have access to ESBs, this is your paradise. Grab your quest skills and go after the orcs! The Grand Orc has only 6.8k HP. If you can take it down with Mammonite, even better. This map requires you to have a ton of potions to survive, but the payoff is great. If you're low on health, use a potion every time a Grand Orc hits you.
