A horde of kidnappers is after the National Team Star, a soccer star who got lost in Rune-Midgard. The whole server has to defend him: if he's taken, everyone loses the National Team bonus until the next successful defense.
It's a cooperative defense event: it's not every player for themselves, it's the whole team protecting a target that doesn't heal. Whoever takes part collects the event's two currencies, Brazilian Flag and Soccer Ball, and trades them with the National Team Supporter for the Cup's gear and consumables.
When and where
Every 3 hours, while automatic mode is on: 00h · 03h · 06h · 09h · 12h · 15h · 18h · 21h
The server announces by broadcast 10 minutes and 3 minutes before each invasion. It always happens in the field south of Prontera (prt_fild08), and the National Team Supporter stands right there, at prt_fild08 178, 372: that's who you trade the currencies with.

How it works
Rule
Detail
The target
The National Team Star has limited life for the whole event: he does not heal between waves. Every hit he takes removes 1 life, no matter the monster's damage.
The Star's life
100 life with 15 players or more on the map. With fewer than 15 players he gets a break: 150 life. His current life floats above him, updated every 3 seconds.
Waves
12 waves, split into 4 phases of 3 waves. Between one wave and the next there are 20 seconds of breathing room.
The 4 phases
The Star runs to a different corner of the field each phase: North → East → South → West. Follow the automatic navigation and the red marker on the minimap.
Time limit
8 minutes to clear each wave. If time runs out, the Star is considered kidnapped and the event is lost.
Wave size
Scales with the number of players on the map: a base of 30 monsters +3% per player. With 10 players it's 30% bigger; with 20, about 60%.
Difficulty
With 15+ players the kidnappers get faster with each phase, and some of them gain Vigor (they don't flinch when hit): by Phase 4, half the horde. With fewer than 15 players they come at the normal pace.
Anti-KS off
The map has KS unlocked during the event: it's cooperative defense, everyone can hit everything.
The detail that can catch you off guard: 1 in every 4 monsters in the wave hunts the players instead of the Star. The other 3 go straight for him. Just fighting isn't enough: someone needs to hold the line near the Star.
Starting Phase 3, the Star inspires the team: everyone on the map automatically gets Increase agility.
50% chance to drop on the ground near the Star, plus 5% directly to whoever got the kill
Important: the drops on the ground have no owner: anyone can pick them up. But they don't work with autoloot or Greed, so you have to grab them by hand, near the Star. The currencies also cannot be traded between players: everyone farms their own.
Victory bonus: when the Star is successfully defended, everyone on the map gets 5 Soccer Balls.
The National Team bonus
The outcome of the defense sets a global server state:
Outcome
What happens
✅ Star defended
National Team Bonus ACTIVE: the Selection Bandana, Cap and Ribbon, plus the National Team Cleats, start granting their bonuses. This lasts until someone lets the Star fall.
❌ Star kidnapped
Bonus OFF: the National Team gear has no effect at all until the next successful defense. A grave appears on the field, at the spot where he was taken.
In other words: you can buy and wear the pieces whenever you want, but they only grant bonuses while the Star is safe. If the server lets him get taken, they become pure cosmetics until someone defends him again.
You can check the current state at any time by talking to the Supporter or clicking the Grave on the field: both also tell you the time of the next defense.
The Supporter's shop
The National Team Supporter stands in the field south of Prontera (prt_fild08 178, 372) and trades the currencies for items. The shop is always open: even after a defeat, you can keep buying normally. During an invasion, she still guides you to the Star with the navigation.
Nothing in the shop can be sold, dropped or traded: it's all personal.
+5% EXP, +5% drop, +5% ATK and +5% MATK: disappears after 24h
The Bandana, Cap and Ribbon are costumes (visual only): they take up costume slots, so they don't conflict with your top/middle gear. The Cleats are shadow equipment, so they don't clash with your shoes either. It's worth getting both the Bandana and the Cap: one for leveling, one for farming.
The Vitamins are made for players who are just starting out: their strength drops as your level rises.

Tips
Stay close to the Star. The monsters go after him, not you. Anyone hunting far away leaves the Star exposed.
Remember he doesn't heal. Life lost in Phase 1 doesn't come back in Phase 4. One badly defended wave early on can ruin the whole event.
Follow the navigation. He changes corners every phase. If you don't follow, you'll arrive late, and he'll spend the whole wave taking hits alone.
Pick up the drops on the ground. Autoloot and Greed do not pick up the event's currencies.
Call for people. With 15+ players the monsters get faster and tougher and the Star only has 100 life instead of 150, but having more people holding the line more than makes up for it.
Before you leave the field, stop by the Supporter: the Soccer Balls are cheap (1 per box of 10 juices) and cover your everyday potions.
