The Bard / DancerBard and Dancer form a combined class that need each other to get the most out of their skills. But don't be fooled: even a lone Bard or Dancer can deal more damage than you'd expect.

Becoming a Bard / Dancer
The Bard is the evolution of the male Archer, and the Dancer is the evolution of the female Archer. Each follows a different class change quest: the Bard's begins in Comodo (with a stage in Lutie), and the Dancer's takes place in Comodo.
Becoming a Bard
The Bard quest begins with the Wandering Minstrel (Lalo), in Comodo (comodo,226,123). There's also the option to become a Bard instantly for 100,000 Zeny, no test required, but you lose the rewards (the extra 100,000 Zeny and the Platinum Skills).

Talk to the Wandering Minstrel (Lalo), in Comodo (comodo,226,123). Ask him to sing and compliment the song. Talk to him again and choose 'You have a pleasant voice'. He'll ask for a Flower: pick a flower he likes (for example Singing Flower, Hinalle, Aloe, Ment or Witherless Rose) and bring it to him. Afterward, he'll send you to Lutie to make friends with the Snowman.

In Lutie, talk to the Snowman (xmas,134,112). Always choose the option highlighted in blue.

Talk to Duffle, who comments on the Snowman.

Go back and talk to the Snowman again.

Talk to Peterson, who points you to the Hairy Uncle.

Talk to the Hairy Uncle. He'll ask for: 1 Squid Ink and 1 Sticky Mucus. Hand them over to hear the story and get sent to Mima (the pickle-making aunt, also called Thachentze).

Talk to Mima (the pickle aunt). She asks for 'the hardest salt in the world'. Go back to the Snowman to get the salt and hand it over to Mima.

Talk to the Snowman again, then talk to Howie the Clown and ask about the Snowman. He tells you to talk to the two kids.

Talk to Charlie and Marsha, then go back to the Snowman to receive a gift and complete the friendship.

With the friendship complete, go back to Lalo in Comodo for the singing test. TIP: you only need to type the phrases highlighted in blue.
Bonus
After passing the singing test, you can become a Bard right away or trade Trunks for Bard weapons (see the sets in the section below).
Trading Trunks for Bard weapons
After passing the singing test, Lalo trades the following Trunk sets for Bard instruments:
It has to be 60 trunks of the same type. The type you hand over determines the instrument:
Lute [2] (if you become a Bard below job 50) Harp [1] (if you become a Bard at job level 50)
The best instrument is the Harp [1], and it only comes from one combination: 60 Fine-grained Trunk + job level 50. Worth planning ahead.
You can skip the trunks and just ask Lalo to change your class directly, but then you get no instrument at all.

Talk to Bor Robin and choose 'Go to the class change area'. Then talk to Aile to sign up for the class change quest. She's in the upper left corner of the stage. She'll ask for 10k Zeny plus a set of items.

Talk to Bijou, who's in the upper right corner of the stage (the opposite side from Aile). She'll ask you 10 questions and you need more than 70 points (that is, 80+). Careful: some wrong answers deduct 10 points instead of just not scoring, so one mistake can cost you 20. The answers are in the subsections below.

After passing Bijou's test, talk to her again to be teleported to the next test room. Look for the 'Dance Class' waiting room and enter when you're ready. This is a dance test, and you need to follow the instructions given.

After passing the dance test, talk to Bijou and she'll change your class to Dancer.
Another well-known spot for high levels is the Turtle Dungeon. Monster density here is high, so you won't have to worry about running out of monsters to kill. Head to the next floors for more EXP and more monsters.
Nifflheim Field
Medium to Hard
Another option is Nifflheim field 2. Just bring Silver Arrow and everything becomes easy to kill. Wear armor with Bathory Card or Evil Druid Card to nullify the dark Soul Strike.
Sphinx
Medium to Hard
Anubis is your main target here, and don't start here unless you have the proper gear. Its EXP is absurdly high, so don't miss out. You can also enter the portal in the center if you want to level on Pasanas.
