Hunter

Hunters are skilled at ranged attacks and can also specialize in setting traps to catch the enemy by surprise. With their loyal falcon, the Hunter deals heavy damage from afar. With high damage and fast attack speed, they can end a battle before it even starts. General class reference guide. ReClassic applies its own rebalancing to several skills, so some builds and skills may differ from classic Ragnarok.

Becoming a Hunter

Requirements: be an Archer, have at least job level 40, and have spent all your skill points. The Hunter Guild is in Payon Field 10 (`pay_fild10`). From Payon, go 2 maps east and 1 map south: talk to the Guild Member (pay_fild10,148,251) to be teleported inside. Note: Sherin also offers to turn you into a Hunter on the spot for 100,000z, no test. But you lose the quest rewards: the 100,000z bonus, the bow, and the Platinum Skills. Only use this shortcut if you really don't want to do the quest.

1		The Hunter Guild is in Payon Field 10 (2 maps east and 1 south of Payon).
2		Inside, talk to Sherin (in_hunter,99,99), in the center of the map, and apply to become a Hunter. She gives you a 10-question interview (see the answer key below).
3		Talk to the Demon Hunter (in_hunter,55,99), to Sherin's left. He asks for one set of items, randomly picked on the spot (see the table below). Go back to him with the items in hand.
4		Go to the Archer Guild, in Payon, and talk to the Guild Leader Shisui (payon_in02,21,31). She gives you 200 Silver Arrows (if you have 5 or fewer) and sends you to the test room.
5		Final test in the arena (`job_hunte`): kill 4 "Target Monster", flip the switch, and escape through the exit within 3 minutes. Details below.
6		On passing, Shisui hands you the Necklace of Wisdom. Bring it back to Sherin: she turns you into a Hunter, gives you 100,000z (once per account), a bow, and the Platinum Skills.

Answer key: Sherin's 10 questions

Each question is worth 10 points and you need 90 points or more to pass, meaning you can get at most 1 wrong. The correct answers are the polite and responsible ones; the rude, selfish, or lazy options are worth 0 points. Several questions have two valid answers. The table shows all the options exactly as they appear in the game:

If you fail, just talk to Sherin again and redo the interview: there's no penalty.

Final test: Shisui's arena

Shisui teleports you to the arena (`job_hunte`). You enter through the waiting room: only one player at a time takes the test; if someone's already inside, wait in the room and you'll enter automatically. Objective:

Kill 4 monsters named exactly "Target Monster" (there are 6 scattered around the room, only 4 are needed).
A switch appears in the center of the room (job_hunte,93,101). Activate it.
The exit opens at the top of the map (job_hunte,89,139): you have 30 seconds to reach it.

You fail instantly if you:

Kill any monster that is NOT named "Target Monster". The room is full of decoys with almost identical names: "Torget Monster", "Moster Target", "Target", "Albino Monster", "Simple Monster", "Test Monster", "Kill Me!", "Don't attack me", "Please don't kill me", "Heeeelp!!!", and others. Read the name carefully before you shoot.
Step on a trap: there are dozens scattered across the map, mostly in the narrow corridors along the path to the exit.
Die or run past the 3 minutes.

The real "Target Monster" and the decoys use the same sprites (Zombie, Poring, Mummy, and Archer Skeleton), so the sprite doesn't help at all: only the name matters. Tips: go slowly and read every name; use ranged attacks so you don't touch any traps; if you fail, Shisui heals you for free and you can try again right away.

Tip: if you become a Hunter at job level 50 instead of 40, you get the Hunting Bow [2] (much better) instead of the Cross Bow [2]. It's worth waiting until 50 before talking to Sherin.

Magma Dungeon	Medium	Use Double Strafe(Double strafing) on isolated monsters and Arrow Shower on mobs. Repeat and profit Zeny. Use fire armor (Pasana Card).
Glast Heim	Medium to Hard	Great EXP potential. Start with the Evil Druids and Wraiths, then move to the Raydrics.
Turtle Dungeon	Medium to Hard	High monster density, you'll never run out of targets. Advance through the floors for more EXP.
Nifflheim Fields	Medium to Hard	On Nifflheim Field 2, bring a Silver Arrow and everything becomes easy. Have Bathory/Evil Druid armor to nullify Dark Soul Strike.
Sphinx	Medium to Hard	Anubis is the main target and gives very high EXP. Don't start here without proper gear. You can enter the center portal and level on Pasanas.
Anolians	Easy	Easy to kill: bring a Wind Arrow and some potions. Trappers also do well here.
