Knight

The Knight
The Knight
The Knight class is the second primary class of the Swordman. As a "hit and slash" type character, Knights gain access to a new mastery that unlocks a new weapon type to wield, in addition to the Swordman's swords. They can also acquire powerful area-of-effect skills, like the famous Bowling Bash and the exclusive spear skill, Brandish Spear. General class reference guide. ReClassic applies a rebalance of its own to several skills, so some builds and skills may vary compared to classic Ragnarok.

Becoming a Knight

Requirements: be a Swordman, have at least job level 40, and have spent all your skill points. The Knight Guild (Prontera Cavalry) is in the upper left corner of Prontera (`prt_in`). There are 6 trials, each administered by a different Knight in the same room. Note: the Chief of Knights also offers to become a Knight on the spot for 100,000z, no trial needed. But you lose the quest rewards: the 100,000z bonus, the Awakening Potions, and the Platinum Skills. Important tip: if you reach job level 50, the Dedicated Knight waives trial 1 (no need to collect any items) and you still get 7 Awakening Potions at the end, instead of 3. It's worth leveling up to 50 before starting.
StepImageWhat to do
1cavaleiro-pront.pngThe Cavalry is in the upper left corner of Prontera.
2cavaleiro-herman.pngTalk to the Chief of Knights (prt_in,88,101) and apply. He sends you to the 6 trials. Come back to him between trials to find out the next one.
3cavaleiro-andrew.pngTrial 1, Dedicated Knight (prt_in,75,107): asks for a randomly drawn set of items (see below). With job 50 he skips this trial. Come back to him with the items.
4cavaleiro-siracuse.pngTrial 2, Honorable Knight (prt_in,71,91): 8 knowledge questions. Get a single one wrong and you restart the trial from scratch. Answer key below.
5cavaleiro-windsor.pngTrial 3, Battle Knight (prt_in,79,94): combat trial. He saves your return point and takes you to the arena (`job_knt`).
6cavaleiro-waitroom.pngOnce in the arena, enter the waiting room (chat) to begin. Only one candidate at a time takes the trial.
73 rounds of combat, 3 minutes each. Kill all the monsters in the round to advance. If time runs out, you fail. Come prepared (see the rounds below).
8cavaleiro-amy.gifTrial 4, Polite Knight (prt_in,69,107): 10 situational questions, 10 points each. You need 80 points or more (you can get 2 wrong). Answer key below.
9cavaleiro-edmond.gifTrial 5, Devoted Knight (prt_in,70,99): teleports you to an arena with Porings, Lunatics, Chonchons, and Spores. Survive 4 minutes without killing a single monster. Killing any of them fails you instantly (and drops you in prt_fild05). Don't attack anything, just wait.
10cavaleiro-grey.pngTrial 6, Modest Knight (prt_in,87,92): final cascading interview. The scoring is counterintuitive: you only pass with exactly 0, 5, or 10 points. Answer key below.
11Go back to the Chief of Knights. The 6 Knights give their recommendations and you are consecrated a Knight.

Trial 1: Dedicated Knight item sets

Randomly picks one of these 2 sets (all items in quantities of ×5). With job 50 this trial is waived.

Trial 4: Polite Knight answer key

There are 10 questions, each correct answer worth 10 points. You need 80 points or more (you can get 2 wrong). Several questions have two valid answers.
#SituationAnswer(s) that score
1You need a party in MorrocI open a chat room. or I ask someone.
2The party reaches the 4th floor of the pyramidI escort them or I stay in front
3A party member gets lostI look for them or I keep escorting
4A fallen adventurer begs for helpI ask the Priest to help them.
5A monster drops a valuable item and you pick it upGive it to whoever deserves it. or Ask the others.
6Best way to sell an itemOpen a chat. or Look for someone looking for the item.
7Someone begs you for moneyI tell them a good place for it.
8An adventurer lost in the forestI tell them how to get out of there. or I lead them to the exit.
9A Priest shows up and your HP is lowI buy the Heal.
10A rare item on the groundI ask if it belongs to someone. or I leave it there.
Trick question 9: I politely ask for a heal! looks like the right answer but is worth 0. The only one that scores is I buy the Heal. The other options that don't score: I look around (1), I fight alone (2), Never mind! (3), How much does he pay for my help and Ignore them. (4), Learn more about them. (5), Sell it to an NPC. (6), I give money and items. and I ignore. (7), I give a Butterfly Wing. (8), I demand that they heal him. (9), I pick it up and walk away. (10).

Trial 5: the Devoted Knight's patience test

You are teleported to an arena full of weak monsters: 4 Porings, 4 Lunatics, 4 Chonchons, and 8 Spores. Single rule: survive 4 minutes without killing a single monster. Killing any of them fails you instantly and drops you in `prt_fild05`. When time runs out, you pass automatically. Sheathe your weapon, don't use any area skill, and just wait.

Trial 6: Modest Knight answer key

Three chained questions (each answer opens a sub-menu). The trick: to pass, the total needs to be exactly 0, 5, or 10 points. Any other value fails you, including high totals.

Safest path (0 points): answer To be strong. → To protect myself. → Go back to my friends. → any option. Total 0, you pass. Careful: the materialistic options are exactly the ones that add up. Picking To be rich. (+10) and then I'll get stronger this way. (+10) adds up to 20 and fails you. And A place to earn money. (+15) fails you on its own. Add up the path before you answer.

Leveling Spots

MapLocationDifficultyNotes
cavaleiro-highorc.pngHigh OrcEasy to MediumAt this point, you should already be able to kill a High Orc. Start with this map if you're looking for easy levels.
cavaleiro-byalan.pngByalanEasy to MediumIf you're taking it slow and don't want to spend on potions, you can start at Byalan 3 and go down as you level up.
cavaleiro-pyramid.pngPyramidMedium to HardThe Pyramids offer great EXP with great drops. Be careful at low level: Minorous casts Hammerfall and Heaven's Drive, which can kill you if they land.
cavaleiro-beach2.pngBeach DungeonMedium to HardIf you feel strong enough, why not try the Stalactic Golems? They give a lot of EXP and drop several ores that can be sold to a Blacksmith. Stalactic Golems can cause stun, so have enough VIT, stun resistance, or dodge gear to survive.
cavaleiro-ctower3.pngClock TowerMedium to HardAlarms drop Brooch[1], which is a valuable piece of equipment. You can hunt here if you have enough DEF and HP, since the monsters are aggressive and can surround you. There are also High Orcs on the pink indicator. Alarms can blind you, so don't forget to bring blind resistance items.
cavaleiro-magma1.pngMagma DungeonMedium to HardMagma Dungeon, the holy grail of zeny farmers. Once you have your area damage skill (Bowling Bash, Brandish Spear), you can move here. Make sure you can pull mobs and bring plenty of potions. Use fire armor (Pasana Card).
cavaleiro-gh.pngGlast HeimMedium to HardOnce you're reaching high levels, you can go to GH. This map offers many leveling spots for different classes. The most famous points here are the cemetery, gl_knt, the castle, the Anolians, and much more. Explore this map well.
cavaleiro-turdun.pngTurtle DungeonMedium to HardAnother famous spot for high levels is the Turtle Dungeon. Monster density here is high, so you don't need to worry about running out of monsters to kill. Head to the next floors for more EXP and monsters.
cavaleiro-nif.pngNifflheim FieldMedium to HardAnother high-level spot is Vally of Gyoll. Each of the mobs here has a good amount of EXP, and monster density is good. Have Bathory/Evil Druid armor to nullify Dark Soul Strike.
cavaleiro-sphinx.pngSphinxMedium to HardAnubis is your main target here. The EXP you get from a single Anubis is 28,000 base EXP and 22,000 job EXP. That EXP is incredibly high, so don't pass it up. Have Bathory/Evil Druid armor to nullify Dark Soul Strike. You can also enter the portal in the middle if you want to pull Pasanas.
